At launch, the MENA Frontier countries powershares etf exchange traded fund top three country holdings were Egypt, Kuwait, and Jordan with weightings of 20.68%, 15.66%, and 14.14% respectively. This MENA ETF will trade on NASDAQ under symbol "PMNA". It's expense ratio is 0.95%. The PowerShares ETF, PMNA, will invest in P-notes, or participation notes. P-notes are issued by investment banks or broker-dealers and are promissory notes that are designed to offer a return linked to, or mimics, the performance of a particular underlying equity security or market. This is due to the fact that many stock markets in the Middle East and North Africa restrict foreign stock ownership.
